Observations

The owner of the Phoenix Suns basketball team, Robert Sarver, opposes Arizona’s new immigration laws. Arizona's Governor, Jan Brewer, released the following statement in response to Sarver's criticism of the new law:

"What if the owners of the Suns discovered that hordes of people were sneaking into games without paying? What if they had a good idea who the gate-crashers are, but the ushers and security personnel were not allowed to ask these folks to produce their ticket stubs, thus non-paying attendees couldn't be ejected. Furthermore, what if Suns' ownership was expected to provide those who sneaked in with complimentary eats and drink? And what if, on those days when a gate-crasher became ill or injured, the Suns had to provide free medical care and shelter?" -Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer

Comment: I think Governor Brewer makes her point rather well.

More on Immigration

Great grandfathers watched as their friends died in the Civil War.

My father watched as his friends died in WW II.

And I watched as troopers I had met died in Vietnam.

None of them died for the Mexican Flag. Everyone died for the American flag.

Texas high school students raised a Mexican flag on a school flag pole, other students took it down. Guess who was expelled ... the students who took it down.

California high school students were sent home on Cinco de Mayo, because they wore T-shirts with the American flag printed on them.

Enough is enough.

This message needs to be viewed by every American; and every American needs to stand up for America.

We've bent over to appease the America-haters long enough. I'm taking a stand.

I'm standing up because the hundreds of thousands who died fighting in wars for this country, and for the American flag.

If you agree, stand up with me. If you disagree, stop reading right now.

And shame on anyone who tries to make this message racist.

AMERICANS, stop giving away Your RIGHTS!

Let me make this clear! THIS IS MY COUNTRY! This statement DOES NOT mean I'm against immigration!

YOU ARE WELCOME HERE, IN MY COUNTRY, welcome to come legally:

1. Get a sponsor!
2. Learn the LANGUAGE, as immigrants have in the past!
3. Live by OUR rules!
4. Get a job!
5. Pay YOUR Taxes!
6. No Social Security until you have earned it and paid for it!
7. NOW find a place to lay your head!

If you don't want to share this this for fear of offending someone, then YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM!

We've gone so far the other way . . . bent over backwards not to offend anyone. Only AMERICANS seems to care when American Citizens are being offended!

WAKE UP America!

.......

On a more gentle note . . .

Cheers go out to Swiffer Smith, who is a cute little pup living at Palomar Estates West in San Marcos. Bernice Smith is her ‘mommy.’ Swiffer began barking consistently one afternoon; unlike her, Bernice thought. She decided, fortunately, to check out why Swiffer was barking so much. Turns out a neighbor lady had fallen and couldn’t get up. Bernice called 911, the neighbor lady was rescued . . . and all because of Swiffer. She earns a doggy treat.

About Milligan, Nebraska

I sent the web address to many people in my address book, one as far as Iraq, and received nothing but favorable comments. They were impressed with the quality of the article as well as what we have done.

More Milligan

Lyle, just had to tell you, what a riveting article that was about the plane crash near Milligan. As an old Omaha raised lad, (Omaha North class of 51) I wasn't even aware of an air base in Southern Nebraska, let alone places named Milligan, Fairbury, Wilber, Friend, and Pickrell, to name a few. By the time I learned about them, they were seldom talked about and the war stories were no longer news. Missed many such local historical items when I finally traveled around that area later in life.

The only thing that bothered me was chasing around all five pages to make certain to read all of the article. Didn't want to miss a word. Keep up the good work, I hear you ruffle some feathers now and again. Good for you.

Thanks

Likes Kent Ballard

Lyle, you were right about Mr. Ballard`s stories. A movie producer, such as Steven Speilberg, should read the stories and compile them into a great movie. He can start with "The Flood" then "The USS Indianapolis" and finish with "Hairy-Handed Gents," or how about a book first and then movies?

Thank you for the stories that keep me on the edge of my chair. When I get to the end of the story I`m always looking for more.

God bless you all and God Bless America!
