Unsolicited Phone Calls Political and Otherwise Re: Bits & Pieces, 6/10/2010 Lyle, I also have gotten many phone calls on my answering machine. I called the the voter registration board (800-345-8683) to complain. I was told because I`m a nonpartisan voter the board has the right to give my phone number out. I told the person I will NOT vote for any candidate that calls my home whether I support them or not, then the person said maybe that will send a message to stop the practice of calling private homes. I was given a number to file a complaint-(800-649-7570) which was of no help so I was given the the number of the FCC (888-225-5322) which was helpful in explaining why politicians can invade private homes. It seems as long as nothing is being sold and a phone number is given it is ok. The phone number given should be the HOME number of the candidate that calls. It seems the only solution is to not vote for politicians that invade private homes. please get the message of the last sentence out.
