Randy Taylor, Owner, Escondido Mattress Factory

The Memorial Day weekend upon us, Randy Taylor, the genial owner of Escondido Mattress Company, an Army veteran who served in France, wants to salute our military heroes at home and abroad. While stationed in Europe Randy saw, and was impressed by, the fine, handcrafted, professional manufacture of the finer things in life. It’s been his honor to offer that same fine way of life right here, in North San Diego . . . at Escondido Mattress Factory, 1281 Simpson Way, Escondido.

Randy Taylor is a Master Craftsman. He builds the finest mattresses available . . . he’ll build custom mattresses . . . for antique beds . . . or for standard size beds. This 80 year old master craftsman has been serving his customers for over 50 years. He has several beautiful mattresses he will offer on a special inventory reduction sale.

Randy will be open this Memorial Day from 9am to 3pm to show you his wide variety and to help you make your perfect selection. He has hand crafted and delivered mattresses to our nation’s military facilities, many social service agencies, as well as hundreds of area residences.

He moved to Escondido in 1954 . . .and has earned the respect and continued loyalty of his customers. They know his quality is top notch and enjoy doing business with a nice, honorable, caring man. Whether it’s a mattress for a crib, a standard size, or antique, he’s up to the task. “My customers keep coming back,” he says. “We’ve made and sold mattresses to the children of some of our customers. They know we care . . . and they know quality when they see it. Or sleep on it.”

To meet and talk to a Master Craftsman, come in and meet, or call, Randy Taylor, owner, Escondido Mattress Company. Escondido.

One Million Dollars From Gems ‘N Loans Store Circulates in Oceanside!

It took 17 years to get there but this past we ekend the Gems N’ Loans store in Oceanside hit that magic number of $1,000,000 in loans!

As a result, North County residents are walking around with $1 million in their pockets.

Mack Hembree, the always smiling and genial owner of the Gems N’ Loans stores in Oceanside, Vista, and Escondido, announced that 45 year-old Mark Baskerville, of Oceanside, helped the store reach the $1,000,000 mark by taking out a loan against a flat screen TV. In recognition of that milestone, Gems N' Loans awarded him with $100 in cash! While Gems N' Loans does loan against musical instruments and newer computers and electronics, most of their loans are done on gold and jewelry.

“We’re very proud and excited about having reached this milestone,” said Hembree. “Now our Vista and Escondido stores have a real target to aim for. Our goal is to provide $1 million dollars in loans at each of our three stores. It took us 17 years at Oceanside . . . but perhaps our Vista and/or Escondido stores can do it in less time. We’re better known now. People have learned we offer quality service in a nice, clean atmosphere . . . they trust us. We trust them.”

Gems ‘n Loans is located in Oceanside at 3753 Mission Ave. Corner of El Camino Real, 760.429.7282; in Vista, 925 S. Santa Fe Ave., 78 Freeway Close, 760.429.7284; and in Escondido at 340 W. 2nd Ave. 78 & 15 Freeway Close, 760.429.7285.
