Legislative Spring Recess
By Senator Mark Wyland (R-Carlsbad)
Last week during Legislative Spring Recess, I spent my time in the district catching up with constituents and discussing the issues that are important to them. Since most of the legislative year is located in Sacramento, spending time in my District Office is essential to keeping that connection with my hometown.
During this past visit, I caught up with small business owners who reiterated what we’ve known all along: the harsh regulations imposed on them by Sacramento are forcing them to lay off workers, raise prices on consumers or close their doors altogether. How are we supposed to fuel our economy and create jobs when companies, large and small alike, can’t afford to conduct business here?
I’m committed to fighting these over-the-top regulations, and have introduced legislation that addresses this important issue. Hopefully the majority party will understand before it’s too late that creating jobs is the best way to put California back on top.
Senator Mark Wyland represents the people of the 38th Senate District, which includes cities in north San Diego County and the south Orange County cities of San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano.
