Be a Kiwanian For a Day!

Volunteers meet at 9am at the south end of Kit Carson Park
Adult Softball Field Parking Lot - Look for Signs and Canopy. |
On Saturday, March 13th, 2010, The Hidden Valley Kiwanis Club of Escondido and the Kiwanis Club of Escondido (the morning and noon clubs, respectively) will join hands with other community members to clear brush on the
hiking/walking trails of Kit Carson Park in Escondido.
This project is in light of recent events in our area where the beautiful 17 year old Chelsea King was murdered, where another young woman was attacked while walking the trails, and where Amber Dubois was unexplainedly abducted.
We want the brush surrounding these trails cut back so predators can no longer lie in wait for our women and/or youngsters.
An idea that originated with Mayor Pro-Tem Dick Daniels was eagerly suppored by George Weir of Weir Asphalt Company, and enthusiastically embraced by both of Escondido’s Kiwanis Clubs and several other community organizations. This event gives you a chance to become a “Kiwanian for a Day” and see how much we enjoy contributing to the
community; a chance to meet us and join in common cause.
If you’d like to be a member for more than a day, come visit us as our guest for breakfast!
We meet every Tuesday at 7am at Cocina del Charro Restaurant, 525 N. Quince, Escondido.
We have a great group of guys and gals - we laugh a lot, we have fun, we work hard, and we help the community!
