Pet of the Week February 11th, 2010

pet
Kone

Kone is a 3-year-old neutered male pit bull mix (ID # 42533). Kone is a volunteer favorite because he is such a special dog – inside and out. He is patient and gentle and loves nothing more than to sit on your lap and be loved. He’s pretty mellow for a young dog, but a good game of soccer is his favorite pastime. The volunteers at the shelter are currently working with Kone to teach him the 10 skills on the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test, and he is already a star pupil. His adoption comes with a full session of beginner obedience classes, courtesy of Hidden Valley Obedience Clu, so he can continue his training with his new family. His $110 adoption fee includes microchip, up-to-date vaccinations, neuter, vet exam and more. For information, call (760) 888-2247 or log on to www.escondidohumanesociety.org.

pet

Plus a Certificate for a Free Night Stay at our Club Pet Boarding! ! Helen Woodward Animal Center kennels are open everyday from 11am to 6pm (Applications accepted till 5:45pm) at 6461 El Apajo Road in Rancho Santa Fe. Animal Rescue

pet

ARRF needs foster parents for dogs.

We are short of BIG/MEDIUM sized dog fosters! For example, see sweet Puka above who is living at a shelter right now. Could you be a Foster Parent? Do you love dogs? Do you want to become a volunteer and give lost & abandoned dogs a second chance at a good life? ARRF pays for medical needs, food, & flea medications while dogs are in your care. Fosters are asked to attend one adoption event a month, if possible (Saturdays at PetSmart in Encinitas, or at Petco in Poway), but you can also adopt right from your home. Contact Bernice @ (619) 589-9334 to learn more about this great program. For more information, visit http://www.arrf.cc

The Kitty Korner

These cute little kittens need homes. All have been weaned, spayed or neutered, and vaccinated.

For more information, call (760) 888-2247. The Escondido Humane Society Adoption Center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week. For more information, log on to
www.escondidohumanesociety.org.
kittens

Yes, they are cutie pies.

And they’re so new they don’t yet have names. We’ll leave that to you.

Naming a kitten is a special act, best left to the new kitten’s family of humans.

Check them out! At the Escondido Humane Society
