The Super Bowl has come and gone, much to the relief of many of the area housewives - though there are some womenfolk who are even more avid football fans than their masculine counterpart(s).
My heart was with the New Orleans Saints but my cool, calculating, logical mind said, “Peyton Manning, if he’s on, will win it for Indianapolis.”
Most of the professional pundits and odds-makers felt the same. I am delighted I was wrong. The Trophy and honors could not go to a classier guy than Drew Brees and his New Orleans Saints. No city deserved it more, what with all they have endured with Katrina and the aftermath, than New Orleans.
Sometimes things just turn out right.
It’s my belief that either team would have blown the San Diego Chargers out of the stadium. The Chargers have a well deserved location of choking, big time, when it comes to the big games. They’ve never been a team that consistently dominated either the league or other teams. Once or twice a season, yes, but not consistently.
Back in the days of Fouts, Joiner, Winslow, et al, we dominated the teams and the league. But we still have never won a Super Bowl. Will it ever come
