The Secret

photoPeople ask me most every day, “just what does it take to become a successful chiropractor?”

I generally look them straight in th eye and tell them . . . “well, it helps a lot if you look like the actor, Kevin Costner. You take Dr. Mark Cafagna, for example. Then, it would be a tremendous help if you could find yourself a knockout beauty for a wife, maybe a beauty pageant winner, for example. As an example, Pam Cafagna, Miss Poway of 1978. Then, of course, it always is helpful if you have a great education, like having attended the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Dubuque, Iowa, the home of modern day chiropractic.

Next, I tell anyone who is listening, “you want to have some children . . . say, two daughters and one son. You might consider naming them Ashley, Brittaney and Mark Jr. Naturally, they should all turn out absolutely beautiful and handsome.

Those, I tell them, are the basic ingredients of what it takes to become a brilliantly successful chiropractor. ‘Course, it helps if you can not only treat injuries suffered in the home, at work, via car accident, but also sports injuries. Y’see . . . a well rounded experience of treating a broad spectrum of injuries just makes you that much more valuable to your patients, past, present and future.Put them all together and you have a brilliantly successful career as a chiropractor.”

At about this point in time my listeners will ask me, “well, do you know such a chiropractor?”

photo“Y’know,” sez me, “as a matter of fact I do. His name is Dr. Mark Cafagna. The last name rhymes with Lasagna. That’s why most folks just call him Dr. Mark. Even his beautiful wife, Pam, (who, in fact was Miss Poway of 1978). She often says . . . ‘oh, Dr. Mark, you’re simply wonderful. And, Dr. Mark, she goes on, ‘did I ever tell you how much you resemble the actor, Kevin Costner?”

He usually just blushes and says, “aw, shucks.”

Dr. Mark and his wife, Pam, make for a mighty attractive and talented couple, I tell my listeners. When I show them a copy of the photo above, they quickly agree with me.

His present and past patients know that Dr. Mark uses state of the art equipment and procedures and has that amiable, folksy way of talking with his patients that makes him so popular that he and his staff are now celebrating their 25th Anniversary. Time passes quickly when you have a highly successful chiropractic practice. There’s always something new and exciting to learn and to present to your patients.

That’s how his patients, both present and future, are the recipients of such relaxing features as ultrasound treatments for tired and injured muscles, heat packs, cold packs, and LCD Spinal Decompression System, a non-force, non-adjustive computerized spinal disc decompression therapy designed for people with disc related conditions, sciatica, failed back surgery, or chronic pain. Dr. Mark also has had great success with nerve pain into the arms and legs, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel, and TMJ. He treats all pain syndromes including headache, neck pain, lower back pain, and disc related cases.

Maybe you ought to get to know this wonderful chiropractor, Dr. Mark. Give his office a call at 760.410-2373.

Randy Rides Again!

Randy Taylor, Owner, Escondido Mattress Factory

Time was in these parts when it wasn’t prudent to go out and visit your local mattress store. Quality was not top grade, deliveries were not on time, and the pricing was ridiculous.

“This town needs a proper mattress factory,” the stranger said, as he rode into town.

“Why, I can build folks in these parts mattresses that will compare to the finest mattresses built in Europe. My trusty sidekick, Raul, and I have done this for years. We’re gonna start us up a brand, spanking new mattress factory. Lessee now, what will we call it? I know! We’ll call it “The Mattress Factory!”

That was over 50 years ago.

That slender western hero (western Arkansas) is still here. He’s still slender, too. But he’s a few years older. He’s in his 80’s now. And he still has customers clamoring for his mattresses. They know a good thing when they see it. And sleep on it. Whether cowpoke or King, everyone likes a good night’s rest . . and that’s what you get on a mattress made by The Mattress Factory of Escondido.

Fine, hand crafted, professional manufacture of the finer things in life. in North San Diego . . . at Escondido Mattress Factory, 1281 Simpson Way, Escondido. Yep, Randy Taylor is a Master Craftsman. He builds the finest mattresses available . . . he’ll build custom mattresses . . . for antique beds . . . or for standard size beds.

photoHe’s seen it all . . . he’s done it all . . he refuses to go the mass mattress manufacture route. They only build one sided mattresses. He lovingly builds you double sided mattress, ensuring you, and your family, of sweet dreams for years. Randy builds several mattresses a day. He has to in order to keep up with demand. He also has a beautiful, large, showroom - all the better to show you the variety of mattresses he offers. He rode in to Escondido on his mighty white stallion way back in 1954 . . .and has earned the respect and continued loyalty of his customers ever since.

They know his quality is top notch and enjoy doing business with a nice, honorable, caring man. Whether it’s a mattress for a crib, a standard size, or antique, he’s up to the task. “My customers keep coming back,” he says. “We’ve made and sold mattresses to the children of some of our customers. They know we care . . . and they know quality when they see it. Or sleep on it.”

Randy and his trusty sidekick, Raul, continue to keep a watchful eye on the market place - making sure that the men, women and children of this region have only the finest of mattresses to sleep on.

They’re quite a pair, Randy and Raul. They know the best way to really win the West is to provide all the people with finely crafted mattresses that let them lay their heads down in solid comfort every night. Go on, grab that phone and give ‘em a call: 760.745.5336 or 760.746.5336.
