Calling All Business Owners: Help Me Make Sacramento Work for You
By Senator Mark Wyland (R-Carlsbad)
I have said repeatedly that Sacramento is nothing but a bill factory that fails to recognize the really big issues that plague California, like job creation and controlling spending. That’s why I’m doing what I personally can via my legislation to focus on these issues. But I need your help.
I’m calling on business owners to provide me with examples of regulations, taxes and fees that are impeding your ability to retain and add jobs. Your stories will help me craft legislation that addresses these obstacles. I will also share your experiences with other lawmakers so they can understand the challenges you are facing everyday.
You can send letters to either of my district offices (addresses located at:
www.senate.gov/wyland) or send e-mail to SenatorWyland@sen.ca.gov by January 31st.
I hope you will help me to bridge the divide between hardworking business owners and out of touch lawmakers in our state’s capitol. Help me make Sacramento work for you!
Senator Mark Wyland represents the people of the 38th Senate District, which includes cities in north San Diego County and the south Orange County cities of San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano.

Bill Introduction Deadline Approaching
By Assemblyman Martin Garrick
With a budget deficit estimated to be $19.9 billion in the next fiscal year, it is important that the Legislature turn its focus to cutting back on regulatory hurdles that intrude on the ability of businesses to create jobs. One of the best ways to reduce California’s budget deficit is by putting people back to work. During this legislative session, I plan on crafting a legislative package and supporting bills that make California a friendlier place to start businesses and help reduce the state’s outrageous unemployment rate of 12.3%.
In addition to helping stimulate the economy, it is also a top priority of mine to introduce legislation that helps constituents, businesses, and organizations in my district. If you have any issues or concerns with state government, it is not too late to bring these issues to my attention so it can be considered before the legislative deadline. Please do not hesitate to contact my office at 760-929-7998 or email me at Assemblymember.Garrick@assembly.ca.gov.
Assemblyman Martin Garrick serves the communities of Carlsbad, Del Mar, Solana Beach, Encinitas, Rancho Santa Fe, San Marcos, Vista, and portions of San Diego, Escondido and Oceanside as the Assemblyman for the 74th District.
