California Insurance Commisioner Poizner Announces Results of Terror Financing Threat
California Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner, joined by Rabbi Abraham Cooper, announced the preliminary results of his terror financing probe that determined the level of direct and indirect insurance company investments in sectors of the Iranian economy. He will also call upon insurers to divest their investments in companies doing business in Iran’s energy, nuclear, defense and banking sectors.
Ten Insurance Companies Who Ignored Data Call in Iran will also be Subpoenaed
The announcement was made at the Museum of Tolerance yesterday in Los Angeles. Rabbi Abraham Cooper, associate dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, and Roozbeh Farahanipour, Iranian dissident who has been tortured by the Iranian government joined Mr. Poizner at the announcement.
These studies were launched to detect, monitor and prove up the flow of money from California consumers to Iran. A more complete report is expected shortly with those Insurance Companies who have not complied, named.
