Enjoyed Route 66

Thanks to Lyle Davis for a great article on Route 66, but as the song says "don't forget Winona." I really enjoyed the trip!

Norwegian Folly?

What in the world were the Norwegians smoking? Awarding the “prestigious” peace prize to Obama? It is a farce of the greatest magnitude! None of his attempted endeavors for peace have been achieved. He has done nothing but deliver non-productive lip service abroad. Nations rejected his Cap and Trade, he botched the U.S. Olympics award, and he degraded the U.S. in speeches abroad and has seriously divided the American people. A recent poll indicated that 72% of those polled feel he does not deserve the award and 42% feel he had hurt the U.S. in world standing.

I was of the opinion that the Nobel prizes were for excellence until Al Gore was awarded it for his sham of “global warming.” That was simply ridiculous, especially since now the whole “global warming’ theory has been proven wrong. He had financial interests to perpetuate the myth so no wonder he received it.

To have nominated Obama after having been in office only twelve days before the nominations were closed cheapens the honor to that of a good attendance award. He would have been held in higher esteem if he had declined it, however, his narissist ego obvioulsy would allow it.

Prior awardees dedicated years of research, service and humanitarian effort does twelve days in office really deserve this award?

Letters to the Editor are always welcome.

Please limit your submission to 250 words. As always, we reserve the right to edit for length, content, and good taste.

We prefer submittals via email. Please send to: thepaper@cox.net but will accept faxed copies and regular mail. We will, however, screech mightily if and when we receive them because, being lazy, we don’t like to have to retype Letters to the Editor or Press Releases. With email it’s a lot quicker and easier to edit.

If you have an item for The Social Butterfly, you can email that to: TheSocialButterfly@cox.net

Readers are expected to comport themselves at all times as ladies and gentlemen. Seeing as how that's all that reads The Paper, that should be easy.

We require your name, address, and phone number so we can verify the letter. We will not, however, publish your address or phone number.

Fax to:

Regular mail to:
