On Global Warming
In response to the article by Dave Ebner of 9/24/09 “Global Warming a National Security Issue,” he shows a gross lack of truth and research in order to produce an alarming blog. He states “we have such a wonderful opportunity to supporth the House bill” (CAP and Trade) which was recently passed in the house.
There is heated debate if in fact global warming caused by CO2 emissions truly exists. Data from highly respected Cato Institute, Environment and Climate News and Heartland Institute all do not support global warming as a burdening problem, let alone brought on by increase CO2 emissions.
Why should American citizens shoulder the financial burden of reducing CO2 emissions? The two largest polluters are China and India, who shoe abstolutely no interest in reducing CO2 emissions or to tax their citizes over a “Maybe.” The U. S. is not the cartagker of the world and Mr. Ebner shows his naivete in suggesting we are..
He should cit more reputable and current research facts before pontificating on a subject he shows limited knowledge on and refrain from alarming the reader.

Father Colgan
I was in the 31st Infrantry Division in WWII and can verify the information in the story about Chaplain Colgan because I was there. Today, much of our media is critical and unsupporting of our military. We would still be having legal court cases from WWII if we had such intensive media coverage over accidents in combat situations.
It’s been istemated that 50% of our casualties in WWII were from friendly fire, through bombing, artillery, mortars and small arms fire. Terrible accidents occur in stressful situations in combat. Few people have experienced fear that lasts for hours, days, and weeks on end. Our TV and media coverage has resulted in viewers becoming incompetent military experts.
Early int he war an Iraqi man was killed in a house-search when the victim moved. Our military are the finest and best trained in the world. There is no time for formal introductions to the enemy. They can’t tell the terrorist from the good guys, but whoever shoots first, lives. People want a logical reason for every situation but war itself is not logical.
We do not have a reasonable enemy. They believe if you are not a Muslim you are an infidel. Most of us are infidels, therefor condemned to death by Muslim extremists.
Our military has been criticized unfairly by the media. They need our compassion and support because they are doing a wonderful job under terrible conditions to protect us.

Lyle:
Really enjoyed this story. When I was a Marine, we thought the Catholic Chaplains were the best. I'm not Catholic, but my impression was that the Catholic Chaplains were tougher than the other Chaplains and were not afraid to go through difficult training. They also were usually tougher physically than the other Chaplains.
