Museum is Looking for Recycled Objects and Volunteers
The Escondido Children's Museum is looking for interesting recycled objects to add to the recycled fence for the new Children's Learning Garden coming soon. The Museum is partnering with the Center for the Arts to expand the current garden and to create the new space (the back yard of the studio next door) as a venue to combine the ECM mission of Science and the CCA mission of Art in a unique and exciting way. The garden will focus on recycling and sustainability and will feature an artfully designed fence of recycled objects, a cistern to re-harvest rainwater, a 'green' wall, a working garden, vermiculture, and lots of other fun things.
And volunteers are needed in a number of areas: 1. To help with front desk "guest services" on Thursdays. 2. To be trained and interested in teaching group visits to students on field trips. 3. Special event workers, including the annual fundraiser on October 3rd; and 4. Apprentice to the Exhibit builder and maintenance person.
Call or email the Museum for more information: Escondido Children's Museum, 380 No. Escondido Blvd., Studio 1, Escondido (located at the north end of Grape Day Park). Phone 760.233.7755, or check the website at www.escondidochildrensmuseum.org.
