AMW (Alex Motor Works) Has A New Location!

While AMW stands for Alex Motor Works, it also stands for Fine Craftmanship!

Alex Teran has built an enviable reputation with both his customers, his suppliers, and his colleagues in the automotive industry for turning out fine craftsmanship when it comes to diagnosing and repairing cars, particularly the European cars such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Porsche and Volvo. That tradition continues now at a new location, 232 Vinewood, Escondido. “I chose to relocate to a slightly smaller garage so I could cut down on the overhead and be able to continue to charge less than most auto mechanic repair shops,” says Alex.

Alex and his brother, Arturo, have become legendary for their ability to pinpoint mechanical problems and then repairing them. He uses 99% OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts on all of his repairs. He tends to specialize in German cars but will work on all makes and models. The fine craftsmanship built into German cars is also legendary. Owners take great pride in their car, whether it’s a Mercedes, a BMW, an Audi, or a Volkswagen. Owners also are very picky about who works on their cars. That’s why Alex Teran of AMW has grown over the years. Alex has 20 years of experience working on German cars. With Getzinger Motor Works for 10 years before the dealership sold, Alex opened his own business four and a half years ago here in Escondido, and only just recently moved to the new address at 232 Vinewood.

While most of his years of experience were here in the states, Alex trained initially at Mercedes Benz of Monterrey, Mexico. While there he was often sent on training trips to Central and South America . . . experience that would prove invaluable over the years.

Asked the secret to his success, he responded . . . “Clearly, it’s the attention to detail and getting the job done right. Owners of German cars bought a German car because they know the engineering is the finest; they know that the craftmanship ithere . . . they want their cars to run properly and everything is done just right. We recognize that and want our clente to know they can always rely on us to do the job right . . . to get their car back to them running as good as it did the day they drove it off the showroom floor."

Alex and his staff don’t sit around behind glossy, expensive desks and talk about mechanical work. They are out in their garage area every day, working on Mercedes, BMW’s, Audi’s, and Volkswagens.
