Patriots visit Congressman Issa’s office
Approximately 40 patriots, representing North County Conservatives gathered outside Congressman Darrell Issa’s office this past Friday morning to oppose government run health care. Although the Congressman’s staff treated us with respect, providing coffee & refreshments, the building’s property manager demanded that we leave his private property and take our business to the public sidewalk. John Franklin, Issa’s Legislative Assistant, cordially invited several of us to the Congressman’s office where a lively discussion took place concerning health care reform, gun control and cap & trade.
Although we were unable to arrange a conference call with the Congressman, who was in Washington at the time, I would like to thank Congressman Issa and his staff for their warm hospitality.

The Question of
US Steel Mills
Dear Mr. Davis;
Before the Pearl Harbor attack by Japan, where did they get the steel to build their war machines? Of course, from the good old naive USA!
Why, since the late seventies, have numerous American steel manufacturing companies been closed? Because our blinded representatives, controlled by lobbyists and greedy corporations, allow importation of low grade, cheap steel from our good overseas friends, under the pretense of fair trade.
Our freedom is based on the strength of our military, our capability to manfufacture high grade steel, plus forge and cast it. This is required to manufacture planes, ships, tanks, vehicles, helicopters, etc. Without these baiscs the USA is vulnerable to attack and sure loss of our freedom and way of life.
As Lenin stated in the 1930’s “You cannot win a war with the USA; if you want their country, befriend them and they will gracefully give it to you.” The Stimulus Bill requires that steel used for our infrastructure must be manufactured in the USA by Americans. This is now being contested! We must not allow this to be overturned. “God Bless America and our Military.”

Letters to the Editor are always welcome.
Please limit your submission to 250 words. As always, we reserve the right to edit for length, content, and good taste.
We prefer submittals via email. Please send to:
thepaper@cox.net but will accept faxed copies and regular mail. We will, however, screech mightily if and when we receive them because, being lazy, we don’t like to have to retype Letters to the Editor or Press Releases. With email it’s a lot quicker and easier to edit.
If you have an item for The Social Butterfly, you can email that to: TheSocialButterfly@cox.net
Readers are expected to comport themselves at all times as ladies and gentlemen. Seeing as how that's all that reads The Paper, that should be easy.
We require your name, address, and phone number so we can verify the letter. We will not, however, publish your address or phone number.
