Serving on The State Allocation Board
By Senator Mark Wyland
I recently had the honor of being appointed to the State Allocation Board (SAB). California's State Allocation Board oversees the distribution of state resources used for all new construction and renovation of local public school facilities. This includes modernizing career technical education (CTE) facilities to prepare our students as they enter California's workforce. Making certain that CTE programs are revamped is particularly important, since unfortunately CTE programs are dwindling across the state.
I'm especially honored to sit on the SAB because it's critical that California's public dollars are spent wisely and cautiously during these tough financial times. There's a fair balance between meeting the needs of public schools while also remaining fiscally responsible, and I'm pleased that I can play a part in making the best possible investments we can to improve public education facilities and, most importantly, do what's right for our students.
Senator Mark Wyland represents the people of the 38th Senate District, which includes cities in north San Diego County and the south Orange County cities of San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano.
