Observations and Reflections on Life in General in These Here Parts
Has anyone else noticed that there is no hot water in the restrooms at Escondido’s Kaiser Permanente Facility? Since we were children we were taught to wash our hands after using the restroom, with hot, soapy water. Soap, there is. Water, there is. Cold water. No hot water. Wouldn’t you think a facility set up to serve the health needs of the community would insist on one of the most basic conveniences? Just asking.
Speaking of things medical, are you scratching your noggin as much as I am about the trustees at Tri City Medical Center voting to give out $2.4 million in bonuses? In this economic climate? And after the voters said for a third time . . . “you’re nuts?” . . when they, the voters, turned down the latest bond issue? And giving their CEO a $90,000 bonus? Just days before the new board was to have been seated? Strange world we live in.
Speaking of strange . . . notice that strange lookin’ fellow to the right of that good lookin’ young lady ringin’ the bell for the Salvation Army? I know the little girl is the legendary Katie Roner, a 2nd grader at Reidy Creek. But the strange guy? He reminds me of somebody in the Hidden Valley Kiwanis Club. Retired Police Sergeant Nick Ponce, perhaps?
