Evelyn Madison for PPH

Please join me in voting for my long time friend, Evelyn Madison, for the Palomar Pomerado Hospital Board. With her many volunteer activities over the years, she has proven to be a dedicated and great asset to the community.

A former hospital board member, Evelyn has strived to be fair and "to make things better" for all.

Don Brust for PPH

I support the selection of Dr. Don Brust to the Board of Directors for the Palomar Pomerado Health District. Over the past 35 plus years I have been able to observe and know him personally as a family man, leader of Rotary Cubs, showing off his Clydesdale horses, ranching citrus and avocados, fighting off cancer, officiating at the 1984 Olympics and as a mediocre poker player. Don is sharp, incisive, and will not back down from doing the right thing. The dristrict needs a man and personality like Don Brust.

A Supporter for Prop O

We have greedy special interests who try to gain government positions and, when successful, it gets out of control. If we vote in what appears to be a good person, it could be one of their own.

For more voter control they built 18 mobile home parks, placing one of their own as manager in each park to influence senior votes. A group in San Marcos has placed prop “O” on the ballot, giving the citizens control. Special interests will not permit it. Banners on all corners will say “No” on Prop “O.”

I urge a “no” vote for Lee Thibadeau (PPH), Hal Martin, and Prop O.

Lee Thibadeau for PPH

Dear Editor:

Lee is the financial doctor we need at the Palomar Pomerado Health District. With the District budget DOA and over due on the new hospital it is time for someone on the board who has the experience to apply the tourniquet needed to stem the financial bleeding.

Lee’s success in turning around San Marcos as a former Mayor and Councilmember cannot be denied. Lee led the team that brought Cal State San Marcos and the economic enhancement that followed in its wake. Lee had the vision to build a Civic Center that, unlike the Escondido model, generates $2.2 million annually in lease income.

Lee championed Public Private Partnerships that led to a combination Sheriff’s station and Fire training facility. He led residents to create a Charter City model that has resulted in $9 million in lease incomes to the City.

I endorse Lee because I know first hand his financial skills and ability to lead government with a businesslike attitude that is rare amongst most elected representatives.

We have the opportunity to build a vibrant 21st century Health District. Elect Lee Thibadeau to the Board of Directors of the Palomar Pomerado Health District.

Dr. Don Brust for PPH!

I have been a friend of Dr. Brust since 1965 when he became our famly veterinarian. Our family of five kids lived on 2.5 acres in Oceanside in the Henie Hills neighborhood. We had five or six horses, 20-30 dogs (my folks were Dachshund breeders), goats, rabbits, chickens, turtles, hamsters, cats, birds & fish. Dr. Brust administered professional and kind care to just about all of our animals. In 1967 our dad was sent to Vietnnam to oversee the construction of a new hospital. Our father was a Captain in the US Navy and a surgeon. While he was gone for those 13 months Dr Brust stepped in as our “temporary dad” and he and his wife helped our mom and us through some very tough times.

Dr. Brust’s years of experience cover a wide range of responsibilities and accomplishments. He is a man of genuine good character, strong work ethic, and is known to take care of business. Dr. Brust would be a tremendous addition to the Palomar Pomerado Health District Board of Trustees.

Another Brust Fan

I am writing to endorse the candidacy of Dr. Don Brust for the Palomar Pomerado Health District Board of Directors. I have known Don for nearly forty years as a fellow professional, a fellow Rotarian and as a friend. He has had extensive experience in managing his veterinary hospital for nearly forty years. He has also served on the Bonsall Union School Board for eight years and had extensive experience dealing with budgets in that capacity.

Anyone who knows Don is well aware of his quick wit and sense of humor. But Don is also an intelligent, well-informed, highly-motivated individual who is not shy about expressing his opinions and I can assure you that he will represent his constituency well on the Board.
