The Covert Battle
I read with interest your recent article in regard to Dr. Polansky and Mr. Covert. (See the website for the cover story, “The Covert Agenda: Polansky vs. Covert” at http://thecommunitypaper.com/archive/2008/07_03/index.php)
I am writing in regard to the apparent termination of contract with Dr. Polansky’s professional group, Valley Radiology. I trained with one of the senior partners in the group, Dr. Steve Taggart, who apparently will lose his privileges to practice with the contract termination. Dr. Taggart is and has always been a highly talented, intelligent, caring, and friendly physician. It is a disservice to your community to lose his skills, and I cannot believe that actions would be taken to terminate a contract with his group.
I have offered Steve a position with my group in Colorado on more than one occasion, which he has declined in the past because of his love of the Escondido area, and his commitment to his group and your hospital and patients. Perhaps now he will take me up on my offer, our gain would most certainly be your community’s loss.

We prefer submittals via email. Please send to:

If you have an item for The Social Butterfly, you can email that to: TheSocialButterfly@cox.net
