St. Mary's annual fall Fiesta, a St. Mary's tradition for over 50 years, will be held at the Church, 1160 South Broadway, Escondido, on October 11-12

San Marcos Lions Club Wants You!
The San Marcos Lions Club is looking for people to join them at their biweekly meetings. They are a service organization that gives back to the community. Lions are recognized worldwide for their service to the blind and visually impaired. Republicans Open New Headquarters
A formal open house for the North County Republican Headquarters, attended by 150 Republicans, was held recently. The headquarters is located at 562 W Grand Avenue (corner of Quince), Escondido.
Republicans attending the event included San Diego County Republican Party Chair, Tony Krvaric; San Diego County Federation of Republican Women President, Claire Plotner; San Diego County Republican Party Voter Registration Chair, Mary Kruper; Assemblyman Martin Garrick; Andrew Lund (legislative rep. for Assemblymen George Plescia); San Marcos Mayor Jim Desmond; Escondido Mayor Lori Pfeiler; Escondido Mayor Pro Tem Sam Abed; Escondido Councilmember Ed Gallo; presidents and members of several local Republican Women Federated clubs and The Escondido Republican Club; and many candidates who will be on the November ballot.

Redwood Elderlink to Hold Music Festival
On Saturday, September 20, from 4-7pm, Redwood Elderlink will hold a benefit concert in support of life-enhancing senior services. The event will be at the Redwood Elderlink facility at 1151 So. Redwood St., Escondido, and will include food, drinks, and opportunity drawings. The silent and live auctions will include a week in Puerta Vallarta or Cabo; three night stay in Big Bear; jewelry; local casino and golf packages; sports memorabilia; dining at local eateries; passes to local attractionsl; and roundtrip airfare vouchers.
The concert will include Eve Selis, a multiple San Diego Music Awards winner, Shawn Rohlf, a multi-instrumentalist, actor, producer, and teacher, and the musician behind the acoustic roots band "The 7th Day Buskers," a Best Americana winner at the San Diego Music Awards. In addition, Lisa Sanders, a two-time SDMA winner, who has opened for such music legends as Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, B.B. King, and Stevie Nicks will attend, along with Berkley-Hart, the blend of talents of singer-songwriters Jeff Berkley and Calman Hart, another SDMA favorite.

Republican Women to Host Local Candidates' Forum
Escondido Republican Women will be hosting a candidates' forum for City Council and Palomar Pomerado Health District at their regular luncheon meeting to be held Wednesday, September 19, at the Escondido Country Club,1800 Country Club Lane. Local Republicans are invited to attend and meet the candidates as well as ask questions during the forum. All local Republicans running for office have been invited to attend.
