British Afternoon Tea to Be Held in Fallbrook
On Saturday, September 6, the Excalibur Chapter of the Daughters of the British Empire will be hosting a fund raising British-style Afternoon Tea. Funds raised at this event will go to support the British Home in Sierra Madre, California. The Tea will be held at The United Methodist Church in Fallbrook, at the intersection of Green Canyon and Winterhaven Roads, from 2

The Excalibur is one of the largest and most active chapters of the Daughters of the British Empire in Southern California. The DBE is a national organization of women of British or British Commonwealth Nationality or descent which offers fun and fellowship based on a common heritage while supporting the four DBE Retirement Homes/Nursing Facilities in the USA.
Vista Rotary Fundraiser to Benefit Wounded Warrior Project
The Shadowridge Vista Rotary Club and the Vista Rotary Club will host their premier annual wine, food, and dance event on Saturday, September 6, from 5:30pm to 10pm, at the newly redecorated Camp Pendleton NCO Club. During the evening, live and silent auctions will take place with items donated by local individuals and businesses. To help our injured military and their families, this year's proceeds will go to the Wounded Warrior Project, the Warrior Foundation and the Camp Pendleton Armed Services YMCA, plus several local community service organizations.

Director Needed for Champagne Village Chorus
The Champagne Village Chorus is in need of a director. The small mixed chorus meets once a week for one hour. Rehearsals begin again in early September for the annual Holiday Show in mid-December. Church to Sponsor Missionary Conference
The Woodland Parkway Bible Church will sponsor a Missionary Conference for girls and women on Saturday, September 6, at the church, 1093 Rock Springs Road, San Marcos. The theme will be "How Can We Be Involved in Missions?"
The morning session will be from 9:30am to 12Noon with singing and an ice breaker followed by featured speaker, Attorney Marla Aspinwall, from Los Angeles.
Afternoon sessions discussing Neighbor Evangelism will be 1-1:45pm on creative ways to do lifestyle evangelism, with featured speaker, Carrie Cybulski, and breakout workshop sessions at 2-2:45pm. RB Chorale Announces New Member Enrollment
Join the RB Chorale as they kick-off their 35th season with "Forever Christmas."
Membership in the Chorale will be open to new members until September 30, with the first rehearsal on Tuesday, September 2. New members should arrive at 7pm to complete registration. No auditions are required and there are openings for Sopranos, Altos, and especially Tenors and Basses.

Artist Reception Open House at Historical Society
On Saturday, September 6, from 1-3pm, the San Marcos Historical Society will host an Open House Artist Reception for Robert Freeman, a controversial world renowned artist and long time San Marcos resident. Freeman has produced thousands of pieces - painting, sculptures, drawings, and murals - throughout his career. His work is displayed all over the world in galleries, including those in Germany, Japan, Hawaii, and the Smithsonian in

LSM Republican Women To Meet
Monday, September 8, is the date of the meeting for the Lake San Marcos Republican Women Federated. The speaker will be Larry Greenfield, Director of Republican Jewish Coalition, California Region. His topic is "Election 2008: American Hero vs. American Idol, the Conservative Battle at Home and Abroad."
