Kudos to Sam Abed

Regarding Sam Abed's letter on subject in your today's issue, (1/24/08) he really hit the nail on the head. Even those who seek or have the most positive outlook for the future should factor in the reality he has clearly defined. Supporting Mr. Abed's point of view, read Lee Iacocca's book, "Where Have All the Leaders Gone?" All we get from political candidates is whatever rhetoric they feel is necessary to get elected.

Not a Sprinter Fan

Alaska will have its "bridge to nowhere," Boston has the "big dig" with cost overruns in the billions, and now North County has the Sprinter, These are three glaring examples of irresponsible stewardship of public funds. Even if the Sprinter's parking lots were ever completely filled with automobiles belonging to people riding the Sprinter, don't expect any relief in the traffic congestion on Hwy. #78, only more delays and confusion at all the Sprinter's street intersections. Maybe all the passengers predicted for the Sprinter will also fill up the empty Breeze buses already in service?

A Memorable St. Valentines

There is an old Calabrian saying, they always butter ya up, before they turn ya into toast.”

Calabria is on the toe of Italy proper, kicking Sicily in the back. Just had to mention that, Mr. Davis. I guess in the end, all those guys were 'taxed to death.'
lol.
