Dixon Lake Report
by Ranger Jim Dayberry
Bass action was slow this week. No big bass to report. The bass are working the bait schools hard in the early morning and evening hours along the shoreline. Most of the action has been in the Boat Dock coves with smaller bass crashing the surface. Pressure was extremely light this week.
The last catfish stock of the season was Friday, August 31st. The bite has been slower this week due to lack of fishing pressure. Mackerel and anchovies are working best. There are still fish being taken out at the Buoy Line or in the middle of the lake. With the recent rains, this sometimes gets the bite turned around and gets the cats active again.
Bluegill action has slowed to a crawl. Try fishing Red worms near the piers and shallow weeded areas for the best action.
