San Marcos Chamber Announces Annual Four-Chamber Mixer

It's time again for the Annual Four-Chamber Mixer to be held Thursday, July 19, from 4:00-7:00pm, hosted by the Tri-City Medical Center, 4002 Vista Way, Oceanside. The event will be a Tropical Sensation; wear your favorite tropical attire. This is a joint mixer by the Carlsbad, Oceanside, Vista and San Marcos Chambers of Commerce. There will be many door prizes with at least four of them valued at $1,000 or more.

The San Marcos Chamber is putting together a donation package valued at $1,000, and is seeking donations from members to make up this special package. Donations should be delivered to the chamber office no later than Tuesday, July 17. Attendance at this special mixer is expected to be from 600 to 800 people. Assistance League "Outreach" Installs New Officers

Outreach, an auxiliary of Assistance League of Inland North County, recently installed its officers for the 2007-08 year. Outreach was formed in 1994 to enable women with limited time the opportunity to volunteer in hands-on programs. Emphasis is placed on helping local community seniors and families in need. Some of the programs include gifts for the elderly living alone, medical alert systems, useful items for the homeless, and family craft days.

Escondido DBA Announces Free Workshops

Saturday, July 14, is the date that the Escondido Downtown Business Association has arranged for several free 30-minute workshops to be hosted by downtown businesses. You are invited to attend as many as you like. They start at 11am and continue through 4:30pm with different workshops starting on the hour and lasting for 30 minutes. RSVP's are required. The workshops include:

Women for Sobriety Meets Weekly

A self-help group for women alcoholics, Women for Sobriety, meets every Monday at 6pm at the San Marcos Kaiser facility. This is not a 12-step group. For information, call Debbie at 760.214.2118 or Ann at 760.724.4474.

Twin Oaks Toastmasters Group Meets Weekly

Every Wednesday at 12:05pm the Twin Oaks Toastmasters group meets at the University of Phoenix, 277 Rancheros Drive, Room 207, San Marcos.
