Hi Lyle,
A friend recently
brought me a copy of your Jan 20th paper featuring a cover article on greyhound
adoption. While your coverage was quite informative and extensive, I thought it
was interesting that you did not mention our rescue group, Greyhound
Connection. We serve all of San Diego but are based out
of North
County, unlike the other
groups you referenced. I'm sure our group would have been of particular
interest to your North
County readers.
I'm wondering if
you would consider printing a brief follow-up in an upcoming issue, telling
people about our group. Our website is www.greyhoundconnection.org and
we are an all-foster organization. Unlike
the other groups, we do not have a kennel facility so all of our dogs are fostered
prior to placement. This gives them a chance to learn to live as pets before
meeting their new families, and also gives us a chance to get to know them a
bit better before finding them a perfect home. Our adoption fee is $200 and
includes spay/neuter, dental and vaccinations. Our small all-volunteer group
prides itself on providing as much post-adoption support as is asked for, and
we consider our adopters part of the GC family. We can be found holding regular
meet n' greets at several north county pet stores and street fairs throughout
the year.
I would be most
grateful if you could give us any mention. If you would like more information
on our group, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best Regards,
