Women to Hold Fashion Show
Members of the Escondido Republican Women, Federated, meet with Pam Browning of
"Weekenders Fashions" and Josie West of "Mary Kay Cosmetics" to finalize plans
for the upcoming Luncheon & Fashion Show to be held on Saturday, March 12. The
event will start at 12N, at Cocina del Charro Mexican Restaurant, 525 N. Quince
St., Escondido.
The
featured speaker is Bonita Chamberlain who will share her experiences with the
Afghanistan women of today. In addition to fashions and cosmetics, handcrafted
jewelry from Afghanistan will be available for purchase. Tickets are $15.00

Immigration Issues To
Be Discussed at HVRC Meeting
The
Hidden Valley Republican Club will meet on Monday, February 21, at 12:00Noon at
the Fireside Restaurant, 439 West Washington, Escondido. Cost for lunch is
$9.00.
This month's speaker is Dr. Madeleine Cosman, Esq. She will be discussing
immigration issues that are affecting our region.
Coeur de Cuisine Gala
Planned
Sunday, February 27, is the date for the Second Annual Coeur de Cuisine gala, to
be held at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. The event, sponsored
by The Rotary Club of Escondido, will run from 5-9pm. It will feature an
evening "gourmet gala" featuring cuisine and wine pairings from leading
restaurants and wineries throughout North San Diego/San Diego region. There
will be over 50 renown chefs and vintners preparing and presenting their
signature dishes and wines. There also will be a reception, music, silent
auction and a special tribute to the Baker Family.
Tickets are $125/each. Reservations can be made by mailing your check to

Gourd Patch Announces
Gallery Show
The
Fallbrook Gourd Patch announces their 4th annual "Gourd Pizzazz 2005" Gallery
Show at the Artisan's Gallery, 121 W. Grand Ave., Escondido, to be held from
March 1 through March 26. This is an all gourd show put on by a group of gourd

CCC Band
To Present Concert
The
Coastal Communities Concert Band will present its 22nd Anniversary Concert on
Sunday, February 27, at 2:30pm. The program will feature guest trumpet soloist
Ron Romm, founding member of the Canadian Brass. Ron has appeared on the stages
of nearly all major concert venues and international music festivals, with the
world's leading artists and orchestras.
The
concert will be at the Carlsbad Community Church, corner of Jefferson & Pine, in
Carlsbad. General Admission is $12; Seniors/Students $10; Family Plan $30. For

Music Series Concert
to be Held
Music Series Concert - Festival Strings - the classical String Quartet from San
Diego will perform at the First United Methodist Church of Escondido, 341 So.
Kalmia St., on Sunday, February 27, starting at 3pm, in the church sanctuary.
The
public is invited. There will be a free-will offering. A reception will

Discovery
Bank to Host "Sundowner"
Discovery Bank will be hosting the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce "Sundowner" on
Thursday, February 24, from 5:30-7:30pm. They are located at 338 Via Vera Cruz,
behind Restaurant Row. There will be door prizes, no host bar, and "anything
but ordinary catering" of food from Fish House Vera Cruz, Leann's Cafe, The
Blvd. Bar & Grill, Tony Roma's San Marcos Brewery & Grill, and Friar's Folly
Bistro & Wine Bar. Cost is $5/Members or $10/Guests. For information, call the

Students from three area schools were awarded certificates and
medals as DAR Good Citizenship winners at the Rancho Buena Vista DAR Chapter
meeting recently. Awards are given to boys and girls who by their personal acts
and attitudes have proven themselves the most outstanding in their class.
Qualifications for the awards are based on Honor, Service, Courage, Leadership
