Grand Opening Tonight

At 5:30pm tonight there is a new business that will be officially opening their doors for any of you who want to learn how to use a computer. They are EZ4U Computer Classes at 574-G East Mission Road in San Marcos, in the Mulberry Plaza Shopping Center. Mr. Aubrey Steward would welcome the opportunity to show you around and to help you become computer literate..
"Optimize Life Now" to be Presented at ABWA Meeting

Tonight, Thursday, June 3, the American Business Women's Association Meeting will feature Rhoberta Phaler as the speaker. The meeting starts at 5:45pm for socializing, and the dinner and program from 6-8:00pm, at the Sizzler Restaurant, 355 No. Escondido Blvd., Escondido.

Rhoberta's program will be Optimize! Your Past is Not Your Potential; don't walk backwards into your future; unleash your potential; move beyond your past and into your optimal future. Rhoberta has spent over 35 years teaching, encouraging and motivating people. She provides insights and strategies that help businesses prosper and people flourish.

Redwood Elderlink to Host Mixer

On Thursday, June 10, from 5-7pm, Redwood Elderlink will host the Escondido Chamber "Business After 5" Mixer. The address is 1151 Redwood Street, Escondido. There will be a no-host bar, door prizes, plenty of food and Line Dancing Demos to Boot. Come prepared with lots of business cards, and expect a fun time -- it's always a great event at Redwood!

"Celebration of Friendship"

A Picnic in the Park in "Celebration of Friendship" will be held on Saturday, June 12, from 11:30am-1:30pm, at the Bates Nut Farm. Come wearing your favorite hat and bring your friends and family for a day of fun, shopping and celebrating. There will be a Best Hat Contest with prizes for the funniest, prettiest, and most original.

The "Friendship Picnic Party Package" is $12/person and includes friendship program surprises and giveaways, turkey or ham croissant sandwich with green salad, cookie, water, iced tea and lemonade, and 10% discount coupon for Farmer's Daughter and Bates Nut Farm for the day. Historic Wood House Site for Meeting of CWONC

Monday, June 14, from 6-8:30pm is the date and time for the monthly meeting of Contemporary Women of North County. The place will be the historic Wood House at 1148 Rock Springs Road, San Marcos. For information, call Laura at 760/945-8699 (do not disturb the onsite residents).

Artist Harold Leff to Demo at Art League

The Lake San Marcos Art League will meet on Monday, June 21, from 1:30-3:30pm, at the Recreation Hall at Lake San Marcos, 1105 La Bonita Drive.

Artist Harold Leff will demo in watercolor. Twice he has been honored as "Artist of the Month" by the Anaheim Art Association and has exhibited with the Apollo Art Gallery, Muckenthaler Cultural Center's Rental Gallery, the west coast American Realist Show and the Carousel of Anaheim Cultural Arts at Anaheim Convention Center. He has also been invited twice to a benefit show at Walt Disney's California of Art Institute. Harold worked at Northrop Corporation for 30 years in various positions including Technical Illustrator, Commercial Artist, Graphic Artist and Senior Artist. On occasion he now instructs basic drawing and painting classes in the Riverside area.
